Credit hours:

  • Programs can be back-dated to a maximum of 6 months from the date of application (no exceptions will be granted).
  • Programs must have a minimum duration of 15 minutes to qualify for accreditation (with the exception of ethics, which must be a minimum duration of 30 minutes). Contact time must be clearly documented.
  • Time not specifically related to the learning program (i.e., breaks, meals, Q&A sessions, examinations and/or assessment tools) is excluded from determination of the CE credit hour.

Programs previously accredited:

To request to have your program/ presentation accredited against the CE requirements for the Mutual Funds Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA) please select the MFDA option on page two of this form. The Institute can also provide an assessment of a submitted course's alignment to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) CE requirements, specifically their required categories of continuing education. Both options are optional, have an additional fee and will increase form processing time if selected.

Note: For a MFDA course to be officially recognized, the MFDA requires you to pay an additional $150 when you upload the course to their CE Reporting and Tracking System (CERTS). This fee is in addition to any Advocis/ The Institute fees incurred and must be remitted directly to MFDA.
